A year in Black & White
I am part of a group of photographers challenged to post a year of black and white photos. In just a handful of days it has made me realize just how much a group of photos gives insight into the individual behind the camera, what we find important, in the grand scheme or just the small detail.
I just posted this one today. My nephew was over, I had picked him up from camp where he is a volunteer counselor. He was upstairs playing a board game with my 5 year old. Not a big deal to most (even though he is 17, and I think that is pretty awesome of him) but this board game has history. Over 2 decades ago his own father and I played it, our fingers on the same dice, game pieces, fake cash, and cards.
Such a simple thing that holds so many memories.

Dandelion wishes
My cousin gave me these lockets awhile back. They came with a negative style photo in them, which with the advent of digital photos, acquiring negatives of favorite photos isn't readily available. So, I've sat on them for quite awhile, trying to figure what to do with them.
Then this idea came about!
A dandelion signifies strength (think how hard it is to get those little buggers out of your yard), change, and wishes coming true.
I'm going to look around for more of this type of open lockets, Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up!

Excitement!
Had a quick shoot for these guys for their Save The Date magnets. I'm one of the lucky ones whose announcement did not get lost in the mail, and is already on my fridge! Can't wait to share their special day with them!

A New Year Already!
The holidays got away from me, and I am now just getting to sharing our card photo, and then a quick shot I took to forever memorialize the mess created on Christmas.
Can't wait to share a sample from a quick session I did before the holidays began to roll, just waiting a few more days until the guests of the happy couple get their mail!

Couples
I can't stress enough that as parents we need couples photos too! We focus so much on making sure we capture our childrens' special moments and changes that we neglect our own as a couple!

Still Pretty in Pink - after school!
Lacey is still "rockin" her pink after school!
*The last three collages are uniform in design since they are siblings and when hanging/displaying they can easily be grouped together, even if not directly around one another.

August fun!
Photo Ops can happen anywhere, anytime. This was outside of pretty cool mini-golf in Madeira Beach. They even had their own gaots you could feed!

Flowers
I have been amusing myself by getting pics of my flowers as they bloom, it has been intersting because not including the ones I planted myself, new things have sprouted up this year that just weren't there last year!

Davon's Boot Camp Graduation
I shout from the roof tops how proud we are, and I tell everyone who will listen that if they have a chance to go to a Marine Boot Camp graduation that it is a memorable experience. But nothing can explain the first glimpse we got of Davon. Nothing can explain watching him try to make a run to us when he was first released for Family Day, even if he (and others) were stopped by the Drill Instructors. Nothing can explain our pride in the choice he has made to defend us, all of us.
We are extremly blessed with our children, and being able to capture the milestones in my own family's lives fills me with such joy!
WAY TO GO DAVON!

Joce - May 2014
This adorable little lady is quick to smile, but sometimes the best expressions are those caught unexpectedly! I also love how sometimes black and white is appropriate to give focus only to the subject! Such a cute little lady!
